Frequently asked questions

Answers about our two packages, who certifies your translation, notarization, timing, corrections, privacy, and price.

What is the difference between the two packages?

Self-Certify is for people who translate professionally or have their own translator. LangoSync creates the translation, you check and edit it in the online editor, then you download it and sign the Certificate of Translation yourself. It's ready in minutes. $15 per document for up to 2 pages, plus $5 for each extra page.

Certified and Notarized by LangoSync is for people who want it done for them. A professional translator reviews and corrects the translation, you check it and can ask for changes, LangoSync's authorized signer certifies it on company letterhead, and LangoSync's notary notarizes it. It's ready in about 24 to 48 hours. $25 per page, plus $10 notarization per order.

Who certifies my translation?

It depends on the package. With Self-Certify, you or your own translator sign the Certificate of Translation, so the person signing must be fluent in both languages. Some offices don't accept a translation certified by the applicant, so check before you submit.

With Certified and Notarized by LangoSync, a professional translator reviews the translation and LangoSync's authorized signer signs the certificate on company letterhead, with the company's name and contact details. You don't sign anything.

Can I request changes?

Yes. With Self-Certify, you change anything yourself in the online editor before you download, and you can reopen the job until its files are deleted.

With Certified and Notarized by LangoSync, you read the translation before it's certified. If something needs fixing, describe it and the translator makes the change and sends it back to you. You can ask for changes as many times as you need until you approve it. Nothing is certified until you approve it, or until 7 days pass without an answer from you. After delivery, we correct errors we made at no cost for 30 days, with a new certificate and notarization.

Can I notarize a Self-Certify translation?

Yes. Take the PDF to any notary. The Certificate of Translation already has a notary section, ready for the notary to complete. LangoSync doesn't notarize Self-Certify translations.

Is notarization included in Certified and Notarized?

Yes, always. LangoSync's authorized signer signs the certificate in front of LangoSync's notary, and the notarized certificate is in your final PDF. Notarization is $10 per order, shown as its own line in your price before you pay.

USCIS does not require notarization. Some courts, schools, banks, and foreign authorities do.

How is the price calculated?

Self-Certify is a flat price per document. $15 per document for up to 2 pages, plus $5 for each extra page.

Certified and Notarized is a flat price for each page of your original document, no matter how much text is on it: $25 per page, plus $10 notarization per order. Example: a 1-page birth certificate costs $35, certified and notarized. Completely blank pages, like the empty back of a scanned sheet, are not charged. A two-sided document like an ID card or a driver's license counts as 2 pages, the front and the back. A rush turnaround is $10 more. You see every page and the total before you pay.

What is a certified translation?

A certified translation is a complete, word-for-word translation of a document with a signed statement from the translator, called the Certificate of Translation. In it, the translator confirms that the translation is complete and accurate and that they are competent to translate between the two languages. LangoSync prepares the translation and the certificate. The translator reviews everything and then signs the certificate.

Who signs the Certificate of Translation?

The person who reviews and certifies the translation: someone fluent in both languages. Some organizations don't accept translations certified by the applicant themselves, so check the requirements of the office you're submitting to.

Is notarization required?

It depends on where you submit it. USCIS does not require notarization for translations. Some courts, schools, banks, and foreign authorities do. Every certificate includes a notarial section that you can complete in front of a notary when it's needed.

How long does it take?

Most documents take a few minutes per page. You then check the translation in the online editor and download your files when it's right.

What if a translation needs corrections?

You review every translation in an online editor before you download it, and you can change anything: wording, names, layout. After downloading, you can reopen the job and edit it again until its files are deleted.

How is my data protected?

Your documents are only visible to you. They're sent over encrypted connections, and every file (your upload, the translation, and the PDF) is deleted automatically 24 hours after upload, or right away when you click Delete. Our AI provider does not use your documents to train its models. Payments are handled by Stripe; your card details never reach our servers.

Which languages and documents are supported?

French to English, English to French (France or Canada), Spanish to English, and English to Spanish (the United States and Latin America, or Spain). Birth, marriage, divorce, and death certificates, diplomas and transcripts, IDs and driver's licenses, bank statements, and legal documents, from PDFs, scans, or phone photos.

How much does it cost?

$15 per document for up to 2 pages, plus $5 for each extra page. You see the exact price before you pay. You pay once, before the translation starts, and the price includes the review editor and the downloads.
